A tenant who was evicted from her apartment in Sudbury, Ontario has a new home for six months: jail.
When the tenant received an eviction notice from her landlord, she placed unauthorized Internet ads for the apartment, pretending she was the landlord, according to The Sudbury Star. She scammed prospective tenants by asking them for cash deposits, often including both the first and last month's rent.
The tenant was caught, but not until after she had already made off with C$4,000 (approximately $3,263).
