Playing It Safe

Saturday July 11, 2009

If you have kids or enjoy having children visit you at your apartment, you might take them to a playground, whether it's at your complex or at a nearby park. Playgrounds can be a great way to keep young ones entertained in the summer, but they also pose hazards -- especially to children who don't know how to play safely.

Here's how to access a free resource that you can use to teach children about playground safety and help ensure a fun time for all.

This guide is a very useful resource but I recommend that all parents check out or preview the playgrounds at the apartment properties before letting their kids play on them. Many apartment properties put very little of their maintenance resources into maintaining the playgrounds. Look for things like broken equipment, screws sticking out, loose bolts etc. to insure that your little ones stay safe.

Thanks for that post — that’s excellent advice for parents of young children. Here’s a helpful article along these lines from Amanda Rock, About.com’s Guide to Parenting Preschoolers.

Well said. First of all once should thank for the apartment life. Where we can get all the consolidate stuff at our door step. But we have to ensure the safety. Play Ground at apartments should not have narrow places and way out to the apartment premises.
