What Do Apartment Hunters Want?

Apartment Guide sought the answer to this question by looking at what visitors to its site searched for from February through August.

According to the data, apartment hunters seek:

  • Economy. Most wanted apartments with monthly rents in the $500-$700 range.

  • Value. They want something extra included in the rent, such as paid utilities or furniture.

  • Convenience. They want to be close to the center of their city. Living within five miles of downtown was the top choice.

  • Amenities. Apartment hunters sought a wide variety of amenities. A washer and dryer in the apartment was the most desired amenity, while oversized closets bottomed out the list at #15.

If you're currently seeking an apartment, or if you were to look for one today, what would be important to you?

It’s true, when I’m looking for apartments I like to have it in that price range with some amenities included. What you described is actually right on with where I am currently at, so I have to agree that this is a very accurate representation of what an apartment hunter would be looking for.
