When looking for an apartment, is a high floor better than a low floor? Is a ground-floor apartment always worth avoiding?

Like most aspects of apartment hunting, questions about which floor is best don't have one right answer. If you're starting an apartment search, you should decide what your preferences are and stick to them when thumbing through listings and visiting buildings.

It all depends on your preference. If you cannot walk up multiple flights of stairs due to medical issues, you should probably find an apartment that is closest to the bottom. Instead of finding the right apartment and not completely happy with the floor you are on – find your place, and make sure the floor suits your needs.
