Despite your best efforts, a conflict may arise that puts you at odds with your roommate. If this happens, the key is to handle the problem effectively and in a way that doesn't put your roommate relationship and your rental at risk.

When roommates don't try to resolve disputes in this way, it can lead to violence. Just last week, for example, a heated argument between tenants in Anchorage, Alaska led one of them to grab antlers off the wall and attack his roommate, according to a report from KTVA.

Keep things positive. Read some tips on how to handle common problems that arise between roommates.

While I get in arguments with my roommates every now and then, mostly over cleaning (I don’t mind clutter as much as they do) I don’t think I could ever be angry enough at someone I live with to gore them with an antler… then again I wouldn’t have a pair of antlers on the wall.
