Do You Trust Your Roommate?

Part of feeling safe in your own home is knowing that you trust your roommate.

If you have reason to worry that your roommate might take or use your belongings without your permission when you're not home, you can't fully enjoy your apartment living. Worse, if a roommate does invade your privacy or disrespect boundaries, it's a sign you should consider looking for a new person to share your apartment.

A tenant at an apartment in Athens, Georgia believes she's in just such a situation. According to a report today from the Athens Banner-Herald, the tenant left her apartment for a few days after a heated argument with her roommates. When she returned, she discovered that almost $4,000 in valuables were missing -- and suspects her roommates of the crime.

Do you have trust issues with your roommate? Have you ever suspected a roommate of stealing from you or otherwise not respecting your personal property?
