Free or Low-Cost Housing Advice Gets Increased Funding

If you've got burning questions about your housing situation and need free or low-cost advice, one option to consider is contacting a housing counselor near you that has received approval from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Hundreds of such HUD-approved agencies across the United States have helped apartment owners and renters alike address a wide range of concerns.

HUD recently announced it's making $79 million available in funding for housing counseling agencies -- an increase of $21 million, or 27%, over last year. So, if you think you might benefit from free or low-cost housing advice, it looks like HUD-approved housing counselors will be around for a while.

I didn’t know that there was a government funded housing advisory program, great to hear and I’ll be sure to take note of the locations nearby just in case I have a “burning” question to ask that needs a reliable, professional response.
