If you're one of many Americans who can be thankful for an apartment or other place you can call home this Thanksgiving, have you considered helping those who aren't as fortunate?

If you would like to give but funds are tight, consider participating in Apartments.com's ongoing Facebook campaign, dubbed "Raising Awareness. Taking Action: A Campaign to Help End Homelessness," which requires no financial contribution.

To participate, visit Apartments.com's Facebook page throughout the month of November and click "Like," and then the company will donate $1 to the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless (up to a maximum of $25,000 for all new "Likes").

Apartments.com, which is headquartered in Chicago, hopes to bring greater attention to homelessness in the United States, where an estimated 3.5 million Americans experience homelessness each year, according to the National Coalition for the Homeless.
