Recently, Rent.com surveyed property managers representing roughly 29,000 communities and over 5 million rentals to get some insight into trends in the rental market across the United States.
This year, 42% of property managers surveyed (as compared to 22% in last year's survey) mentioned that they didn't need to make any compromises to fill vacancies.
Some property managers are providing concessions to renters, however to a lesser extent than last year. Of those surveyed, 20% reported reducing deposit amounts (down from 44% last year), and 16% of property managers are willing to lower rent or provide one or more months' rent free as a concession (down from 37% and 36%, respectively).
