When looking into the reasons why renters are planning to move this year, Apartments.com found that more than 35% of recent survey respondents said they're moving out on their own. Whether these respondents are doing it for the first time or they're moving back into their own place, the fact that so many of them are moving out on their own could reflect an improving economy and job market.
Apartments.com notes that the top reason (for the second year in a row) why respondents said they're relocating is for employment opportunities. At 23%, this figure means nearly twice the number of renters are moving for this reason over the #2 reason, looking for a bigger apartment (at 11.9%).
If you've been living with family until recently, or you plan to move out on your own this year, do you credit an improvement in your employment situation? What are the reasons for your most recent or upcoming move?
