Get Your Landlord to Fix Your Heat

When your apartment heat isn't working and you can't feel comfortable in your own home, the last thing you want is to spend an unduly long time waiting for your landlord to get around to addressing the problem.

Your state or local law protects your right to have heat in your home when it's very cold outside, as part of a landlord's duty to maintain your apartment in a habitable condition.

Before you approach your landlord about a heating issue, go over these helpful communication tips that will increase the chances your landlord will respond as quickly and efficiently as you expect.
