
Chances are, you're renting your apartment under a lease, which is simply a written contract that gives you the right to occupy your home for a certain length of time (in return for rent).
Although it's easy to understand what a lease is, that doesn't stop apartment hunters from having important questions about it before they sign it, or renters from wanting to know if they could break their lease or what to do if they believe part of their lease is unfair in some way.
