If you answered yes to this question, you're far from alone.
According to a recent Rent.com survey of 1,000 U.S. renters, 61% claimed to be living above their means, despite the fact that 74% of respondents reported that they follow a household budget.
So, what's the hardest part about saving money?
The largest percentage of respondents, 49%, blamed continuously increasing costs, while 26% pointed the finger at necessary expenses that, for whatever reason, weren't anticipated in their budget. An additional 15% cited impulse purchases as their main obstacle, 6% reported struggling with high dining and entertainment costs, and the remaining 4% of renters admitted to just not being good at budgeting, according to the survey.
If you find yourself spending more money than you earn, is there a specific culprit?
