If you live in New York City or plan to travel there soon, consider a visit to the Museum of the City of New York to see the new exhibit, "Making Room: New Models for Housing New Yorkers."
The exhibit shows, mainly through drawings and models, how innovation in design concepts has led to new, award-winning types of housing models to accommodate changing demographics, including a rise in the number of single-person households. You'll also see a full-sized, flexibly furnished micro-studio apartment of just 325 square feet, as the top feature of this exhibit, which is remarkable in how it manages to pack more into less space.
"Making Room," which opened this past Wednesday, continues through September 15, 2013.
