Definition: A common form of third-party verification often required by landlords as part of the rental application process. A letter of employment is signed by an authorized representative of a prospective tenant's employer, stating that the tenant is currently employed there and providing basic information about the tenant's employment arrangement.

Examples: The landlord told Denise that once he gets her letter of employment, her rental application would be complete.
