Definition: A junior apartment is one that has an L-shaped room or small alcove off another room, which can be converted to a small bedroom — or used as a dining area or home office. For example, a junior one would be a studio with extra space that can be walled off and turned into a one-bedroom apartment, and a junior four has one bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and an alcove that can be converted to a second smaller bedroom.
